About Lion Club of Suryapet Eye Hospital

Lions Club of Suryapet Eye Hospital was established in 1986 on a 1.20-acre land with a built-up area of 6949.06 sq ft and 20 beds. Proficient in phaco surgeries for 15 years, the hospital also performs YAG laser capsulotomy and YAG laser iridotomy. It manages diabetic retinopathy cases through intra-vitreal injections and uses diode laser for pan-retinal photocoagulation in diabetic retinopathy patients since 2017.
Affiliated with L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, the hospital trains ophthalmologists and para-medical staff there. Governed by a dedicated trust board led by the chairman, the trust board and staff are committed to advancing with time and technology in providing quality eye care services. The hospital received grants twice from LCIF, acquiring sophisticated eye care equipment with the 101 lakhs grant received in 2016-17.
The hospital performs 80% of surgeries for free and 20% at subsidized prices for those who can afford. It has completed a new OPD block, developed internal roads and landscaping, and nearly finished a commercial complex with around 3751 sq ft (excluding cellar) using the hospital's reserves.
Establishing an eye donation center in 1999 and initiating the Hospital Corneal Retrieval Programme (HCRP) in 2002, the hospital has collected 745 pairs of cornea and 8500 pledges. By adopting L.V. Prasad Eye Institute's protocols, the hospital ensures comprehensive eye examinations and uncompromised clinical and surgical work.
